7 Best Kid-friendly Parks in Greenville, NC

Taking your kids to the park is an excellent way for your child to meet new kids, get plenty of fresh air and exercise, and explore nature. Fortunately, we have some wonderful, kid-friendly parks in the area, and our Greenville, NC child care center is sharing our favorites. 

The 7 Best Parks in Greenville for Kids

Town Common – 105 E. 1st Street

Town Common is one of the newest parks in town right along the Tar River. This 21-acre park boasts a Greenville Toyota Amphitheater, paved walking trails, fishing piers, and a boat ramp, but the kids will love all the amenities in the playground. There’s a zip line, a sprawling playground with modern equipment, and there’s acres of green space to run around and explore.   

Jaycee Park – 2000 Cedar Lane

Next up on the list is Jaycee Park. Not only does this park have play and picnic areas but is well known for both it’s outdoor and INDOOR fun for kids of all ages! This park offers everything from a BMX/Skateboard Park to an auditorium and everything in between including indoor arts & crafts and pottery programs. Your kids can go from playing on a great playscape to taking an art class.

Elm Street Park – 1055 S. Elm Street

Elm Street Park offers wonderful shaded playscape areas to keep your kids cool in those warm summer months. This park offers a specially designed accessible baseball park making it a more inclusive and fun experience that more kids can enjoy.  

H.Boyd Lee Park – 5184 Corey Road

H. Boyd Lee Park has a recreation center, lighted sports field, and a large playground area, plus plenty of walking trails. With baseball fields and soccer fields, this is a busy park but it’s so spacious that it’s still peaceful and pleasant. Great for walks and picnics, too!

Peppermint Park – 1400 Brownlea Drive

Next up on the list is the beautiful Peppermint Park is small, but offers both a full size playset and toddler sized play areas making it good for children of all ages. The covered picnic shelter offers the perfect escape from the sun during the warm summer.

South Greenville Park and Recreation – 851 Howell Street

The South Greenville Park and Recreation Center offers year-round activity. The outdoor area has grills, a shelter area, and picnic tables, so it’s a good place for a birthday party or cookout. For recreation, there are basketball courts, baseball fields, and a modern playground area to enjoy and explore. 

Freedom Park – 315 Oakdale Road

A large picnic shelter with grills, big open fields for play and impromptu sports, and plenty of playground equipment are all here at Andrew A. Best Freedom Park on Oakdale Road. There’s plenty of room to run around, and the covered area makes it a great place for a picnic or a place to enjoy some ice cream on a hot day.
