The NC DCDEE, or the North Carolina Division of Child Development and Early Education, is responsible for ensuring the health and safety of children in childcare programs. They administer assessments of childcare facilities and determine the quality and ranking of these facilities.
The North Carolina Star Rated License System is a point-based system with 3 categories:
Education standards points are awarded according to the staff and teachers’ credentials. Formal education and accreditation of at least 75% of staff are required.
Program standards points are awarded based on the number of activities and the environment of the classrooms. Learning environments, outside time, class sizes, and a variety of educational activities are all important factors in this score.

To reapply for our 5-star rating, a pop-in assessment was performed in 3 random classrooms. To maintain a 5-star rating, a minimum overall score of 5 is required.
Not only did we meet the minimum required score of a 5, but we exceeded this goal with an average score of 6.5! This score shows the dedication of our team of teachers and staff to providing the absolute best for your children and is what we will continue to strive for.
